About me.

My name is Sophie Davies; a Costume Designer, Maker and Artist from Bristol.

 

I am a creative and determined individual, with a passion for performance, in particular events and theatre. I graduated last summer with a 2:1 degree in BA (Hons) Costume Design and Making at Nottingham Trent Univeristy.

 

 

Skills:

  • Costume consturction experience in Period and modern menswear and womenswear, e.g millinery, tailoring, corsetry, hand sewing etc

  • Pattern cutting

  • Professional workrooms and theatre experience

  • Designing and drawing

  • Industrial machine skills

  • Dress history/ Period costume knowledge

  • Costume alterations/ fitting knowledge

  • Dressing/Quick changes

  • Performance knowledge

  • IT Skills and some knowledge in Photoshop

  • Some maintance and laundry knowledge

  • Some experience in dyeing and breaking down

  • Creativity and passion for the industry
